Acid Stag featured “WALK BY” in its NEWCOMERS series alongside emerging artists from around the world. The July 2026 feature placed Qwhyet alongside new electronic music from Melbourne, Newcastle, London, and Los Angeles.

J DROONY, formerly known as Mumbles, is a multi-genre artist and producer whose work exists at the intersection of electronic music, hip-hop, jazz, and experimental sound. Known for his unpredictable flows, unique cadence, and ability to move effortlessly between styles, J DROONY creates music that rewards deeper listening revealing layers of perspective, emotion, and storytelling beneath the surface.
Born in London and raised in the Bay Area, J DROONY’s music reflects a lifetime of cultural influence and curiosity. His approach to songwriting draws from his experiences across different environments, using personal observation and a worldly perspective to shape his lyrical voice.
Production has always been central to J DROONY’s creative process. Influenced by his grandfather, jazz drummer Clifford Jarvis, he developed an appreciation for rhythm, improvisation, and musical exploration from an early age. Beginning with trumpet at the age of eight, J DROONY spent his youth performing with various bands throughout California before expanding his creative vision into production and composition.
In 2025, J DROONY launched Qwhyet with his partner Hijkatelyn, a project built around the connection between electronic production and emotional songwriting. Together, they create music that blends outsider house, techno, and atmospheric electronica, balancing immersive sound design with human storytelling. Qwhyet represents the continuation of J DROONY’s lifelong pursuit of creating music that feels personal, meaningful, and impossible to categorize.
